Stressed about finals? Don’t worry, because that’s not the only thing coming up at Sacred Heart Cathedral. As the semester winds down, the campus is gearing up for a full slate of events designed to lift spirits, spark some holiday cheer, and give students something to look forward to besides study guides and review packets. From hot cocoa mornings to a

full week of themed celebrations, SHC is turning December into a month worth celebrating.
Starting strong, Hot Cocoa in the Morning is available from November 18 – December 16. Students can swing by the Student Activities Center Window to kick-start their day with a warm cup of cocoa for $1 cash or $2 for card/Apple Pay, just to make early mornings feel a little more cozy.
Before Thanksgiving break, Campus Ministry is hosting a Friendsgiving Potluck on November 19th in the Chapel right after school, offering a chance to slow down, share food, and connect with others.
On November 21st, students can try their luck at Thanksgiving Puzzles and Pies, where lunchtime word searches and crosswords could earn them a free pie. A little friendly competition never hurts, especially when dessert is involved.

As December arrives, the school shifts fully into holiday gear. Movie voting for Jingle Jam opens on December 1 at both lunches, with students choosing between Elf, Home Alone, The Grinch (animated), and Klaus. Every student gets one bead necklace corresponding to one vote.
That same morning, Campus Ministry offers a moment of calm: Monday Morning Adoration in the Chapel at 8:45 AM on December 1. Expect guided meditation, music, and quiet prayer, followed by hot chocolate and a raffle for a St. Frank Coffee gift card. Offering a peaceful start to a full month, reminding everyone that Christmas is about Jesus, not presents.
From December 8-16, be on the lookout for Seamus on the Shelf hidden around campus. Find it, snap a picture, and send it to the Student Body President, Braden Conte ’26, for a prize.

Everything leads up to the big celebration: Jingle Jam in Jammies on December 6. Come in your pajamas for a night of dancing, karaoke, games, and holiday movies. Tickets are on sale until December 5 for $25, so don’t wait!
Then there’s Holiday Cheer Week, running December 9-16 (Excluding Dec. 12). Each day brings a new theme and a lunchtime activity:
- Dec 9: Snowstorm (white-out) + Gift-wrapping contest
- Dec 10: Winter Sports Day + Guess That Christmas Song
- Dec 11: Ugly Sweater Day + competition at lunch
- Dec 15: Christmas PJ Day + Gingerbread-making contest
- Dec 16: Christmas Out + Santa, Grinch, and helpers passing out candy
Finals may be around the corner, but SHC is making sure the season feels festive, connected, and fun. A reminder to breathe, take breaks, and enjoy what’s happening around campus, because this December, there’s a lot to celebrate.
