Last Chance for Summer Food
As the sunny season comes to an end, so does the chance to get delicious summer food. It’s time to give it one last hurrah. While last weekend marked the unofficial end of summer, I still can’t help wanting to eat up all the late season fruit. I guess you could still sit outside eating corn on the cob and watermelon, as long as you don’t mind getting rained on.
One of my favorite summer restaurants is Gott’s Roadside, which use to be called Taylors. It sits in the very front of the Ferry Building and features a big outdoor dining area. Not even autumn could stop me from going and getting a burger and shake from Gott’s, but it would just be uncomfortable to sit in the fog. Luckily they still have indoor seating. Going to Gott’s with family, and friends, has been a summer tradition for years.
I’m not happy about summer wrapping up, but thankfully I love fall food. Once you start to see signs with the words “pumpkin patch,” you know summer is long gone. So for all the people out there who love summer, don’t worry, it will be back in nine months. But until then, there are more season and more foods!
