As the days count down to May 24th, SHC’s seniors are soon about to enter into a whole new chapter of their lives! With it comes a wave of complex emotions, from excitement to fear to constant anticipation. But of course, with this milestone comes the wisdom they’ve gained over the past four years. And as their final semester comes to a close, the graduating class of 2025 shares some of their favorite memories and helpful advice before their final farewells.

What is your favorite memory at SHC?
- The French Exchange trip my Junior year. I made so many friends who I’m still in touch with now. – Zach Litvak ‘25
- Acting in the fall play. It definitely showed me the fun of getting to perform for an audience! – Dylan Hing ‘25
- My favorite memory at SHC has been winning our football homecoming game against Mitty this past football season. It’s my senior year and we were down by 14, but we came back for the win. It meant a lot for my teammates and coaches to fight for me in one of my last moments playing football. I’ll never forget that moment. – Ziontaye Ball ‘25
- Winning the Bruce Mahoney Football game freshman year after SI missed a field goal. – Camilo Soto-Knight ’25

What’s your favorite school-wide event at SHC, and why?
- My favorite school-wide event at SHC is probably the Bruce-Mahoney games, specifically Girls Volleyball. The game feels 10x more exciting from the student section when our school bands together to support our Fightin’ Irish! – Catherine Tsang ‘25
- Rallies! The energy is exciting, with everyone cheering, and it’s a great way to see the school community come together. – Gianna Crasta ‘25
- Homecoming because it is always fun to dance to the music and hang out with friends. – Alejandra Taylor ‘25
- Kiva Carnival because you get to see everyone’s projects, support their businesses, and get some good food! – Christine Carriere ‘25
- My favorite school-wide even at SHC were the end-of-the-year lip-sync school walkthroughs because the entire school and all of our fun activities were part of it. – Zach Litvak ‘25
- The Football Bruce Mahoney, the school spirit is off the charts and just a good experience in general. – Alan Ramirez Mata ’25

What was your favorite class that you took at SHC, and why?
- AP Language and Composition, because I feel like it taught me both how to be [a] more persuasive writer and a more critical reader. – Solomon Whitlam-Sandler ’25
- I loved AP Psychology because Mr. Curcio really cares about his students, and he actually prepares us for college. – Zephyr Eslick-Persyn ‘25
- AP Calculus BC because Ms. Giovannetti is awesome, and I liked the content. – Ben Wiggins ‘25
- I had never read the Bible before high school, so I absolutely loved Scripture. I had Mr. Shaha, and he was great! – Dylan Hing ‘25
- Art 1,2 and 3,4 because I learned how to further my art skills. – Savannah Ma ’25

What’s one piece of advice you would give to your younger self/younger students at SHC?
- I would tell younger students at SHC to follow and continue their passions at school, whether the activity isn’t very popular or is super competitive. I would also remind them to try new activities, that passions do change, and that those new activities may become a new passion. – Zach Litvak ‘25
- While it’s cliche, I would tell my younger self not to be afraid to try new things. At the end of the day, I never regretted exploring any new club/school opportunities. – Catherine Tsang ‘25
- A piece of advice I would give to my younger self or lowerclassmen is to enjoy your immaturity and experience as many things as possible. Now that I’m 18, I don’t have time to grow up anymore – I’m going to be treated like an adult anywhere I go. I enjoy being younger and taking things slow. Appreciate the small things. – Ziontaye Ball ‘25
- Take a chance. Don’t let doubt stop you from doing what you want or need to do. You have the courage within you! – Dylan Hing ‘25
- Don’t waste time being a goofball. Join sports or clubs or other extracurriculars to spend to your time productively. – Solomon Whitlam-Sandler ’25
The Emerald can’t wait to see what the future holds for our graduating seniors, and we are so proud of the endless memories and impacts they’ve made at SHC. Congratulations, seniors, and enjoy every moment that comes next!
