Love movies? Whether you’re a fan of superheroes, apocalypses, or adrenaline-packed racing, here is a thrilling lineup of must-watch movies that will hit the big screens this summer!
The Fantastic Four: First Steps
Release Date: July 25, 2025

In Stan Lee’s comics, the Fantastic Four family birthed the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The Fantastic Four consists of Reed Richards (the elastic Mr. Fantastic), Sue Storm (the Invisible Woman), Johnny Storm (the Human Torch), and Ben Grimm (the Thing). What often captures audiences is the team’s versatility in superpowers and clashing-yet-complementary personalities. Their unique chemistry creates a balance that simply wouldn’t be the same without every member in the crew. Together, they wage cosmic battles against the villains Galactus and Silver Surfer, ultimately saving the world time and time again. While there have been a couple of film adaptations of this family, like the iconic 2005 rendition starring Jessica Alba and Chris Evans, they aged rather poorly because none have accurately captured the essence of the original comics. However, this year, fans and critics hope to be pleasantly surprised with the movie’s access to cutting-edge tech advances and a star-studded cast. If done right, it could be the thrilling, action-packed adventure fans have been waiting for.
28 Years Later
Release date: June 20, 2025

With notable performances by Aaron Taylor Johnson, Cillian Murphy, and 2025 Oscar winner Ralph Fiennes, this movie is set in a post-apocalyptic world of scientific terror, that is, the chaos ensued by the outbreak of a dangerous virus. This movie serves as an extension of both 28 Days Later, where survivors navigate an infected London, and its sequel, 28 Weeks Later, set 6 months later when the newly constructed society faces yet another outbreak and struggles for survival. 28 Years Later picks up nearly three decades later. Survivors, once safe on an uninfected island, must now journey back to the infected mainland, confronting both the ruins of civilization and the horrifying new threats that await. In the trailer, a bone-chilling audio of Rudyard Kipling’s 1903 poem “Boots” is heard and enhanced by eerie sound effects to support the jumpscares and creepy visuals. The poem, famously used by military units to simulate the psychological torment of captivity, enhances the trailer’s sinister atmosphere. As the verses repeat, the mounting tension mirrors the relentless march of both soldiers in the real world as much as it does the infected in this film. Considering how technical the film industry can get, the entire film was actually shot on an iPhone 15 Pro Max, making it the biggest movie ever filmed on an iPhone. This adds a uniquely raw, handheld aesthetic with a disturbingly realistic feel, immersing viewers in the chaos.
F1
Release date: June 27, 2025

Arguably, the most anticipated movie of this list is F1. This movie will intertwine Hollywood cinema and the art of racing into an evocatively raw portrayal of the Formula One scene. On the big screen, Hollywood veterans, namely, Brad Pitt and Javier Bardem will work alongside real drivers, including Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen. It’s exciting to see the realism shine through the captivating cinematography, spearheaded by the iconic director of the 2022 blockbuster film Top Gun Maverick, Joseph Kosinski. With a budget of $300 million, the movie will provide an unprecedented access and authenticity of the F1 track, F1 cars, and F1 personalities. Formula One has approximately 750 million fans worldwide, according to Nielsen Sports, and since 2021, global interest has skyrocketed. The movie has the potential to expand the racing audience with a rendition of the sport that has never been done before.
If you are looking for new media to consume or simply want to enjoy a bucket of popcorn and some cool flicks, watch The Fantastic Four, 28 Years Later, and F1 this summer!
