Score 1 for the Irish!

Last year, a new system was unveiled at SHC. Every time student ambassadors hosted guests, formerly known as “shadows”,  they were given an Irish Point. If they collected enough of these points, they received prizes. Sadly, the system didn’t function as planned. There was no way of keeping track of who had received points. Luckily, this year, it works perfectly.

Irish Points have become a school-wide phenomenon. Now, every student has the possibility to get them, by going to games, attending events put on by our VPA department or escorting visitors around campus. That last one is Student Ambassadors only, though. The one activity nets you a cool one hundred Irish Points is, of course, joining the SHC Emerald! (Warning: The previous statement may or may not be a blatant lie.)

The list of prizes for accumulated Irish Points are as follows:

§  1-2 points: a “Congratulations”

§  3 points:  a “lunch line cut” pass

§  4 points: an “off-campus lunch” pass

§  5 points: a “free dress” pass

§  8 points: an “off campus lunch” pass

§  9 points:  a “free dress” pass

§  10 points: a Special Spirit Prize

After 10 points, the cycle repeats, so it takes 13 points to get two “lunch line cut” passes!

The Irish Points serve as motivation to attend SHC events. So go out, earn some Irish Points and show some school spirit. Let’s be honest; we are pretty amazing.
